Navigating sales tax rules can feel complicated, especially when renting high-value equipment online. At 3D RENT hub, we keep the process transparent and hassle-free for both vendors and renters.
Like all online marketplaces, 3D RENT hub is legally required to comply with U.S. state and local tax regulations. Sales tax laws apply to rentals just as they do to traditional product purchases. This isn’t a platform-specific policy—it’s part of standard marketplace compliance nationwide.
Whenever a rental order is placed, the checkout page will display an estimated sales tax amount if the transaction is taxable under state or local law. This calculation is based on the delivery location of the rented equipment and the rules of that jurisdiction.
If your rental is linked to a state where 3D RENT hub is registered, we will handle the tax collection and payment (remittance) on vendors’ behalf. This applies when the equipment is shipped to an address in that state.
Our system manages the entire sales tax process for you:
✔️ This means vendors don’t need to worry about filing sales tax returns for marketplace-facilitated transactions.
3D RENT hub is a registered sales tax vendor in states where collection and remittance are required. For example, any taxable rental shipped into one of these states will be subject to sales tax, and 3D RENT hub will handle reporting and remittance directly to that state’s Department of Revenue (or equivalent agency).
